For the record, I'm not totally surprised at the loss. It's not easy to win the national title, which is why repeat wins are so rare. Lots of luck (usually in avoiding injuries or stupid player suspension-engendering activities) required. I'll take the two championships in three years and be content.
And I was seriously trolling with this one, since I don't really care about college football (or other college sports). For three years, I lived within walking distance of the FSU stadium (back when they were good), and never saw a game. However, I do like tweaking those who do enjoy college sports, but that was a fail this time.
Yet I also know of VM's fandom for Vanderbilt lacrosse! I will be waiting for their downfall to post a withering diatribe!
I think when NW won - High# could help with this - there was "controversy" when they visited the white house and a few had flip-flops on or something like that. This was when bushie was prez, so everybody was hypernationalistic, etc...

- lacrosse really wasn't in the midwest back when I was in high school... I saw my first game in college (NESCAC school)
Apparently, Syracuse for the men, and Northwestern for the women.
So if you want to see some quality lacrosse, VM, rest assured it's nearby.
