Monkey Tuesday: Monkey Art

Remember Koko? The gorilla that knows American Sign Language? Did you know that she also is an artist? Above is rendered one of her paintings. She calls it Pink Pink Stink Nice Drink. Honestly, this is better than anything Pollock ever did.

Taking advantage of her new credibility as an artist and, perhaps equally important, the millions that she's made from her paintings and television appearances, Koko has recently been spotted partying with Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton (which explains their recent troubles--nobody puts down or out like a gorilla). You go, girl!

Support gorilla artists! Buy, buy, buy!

There's more! Follow the link! Make Koko and Michael rich, rich gorillas!

There are a couple that actually sorta look like what they're supposed to be, I seem to recall.

I really like that picture too, in a totally unironic way. Also, the name makes quite a bit more sense than most contemporary artworks.

I kind of like the bird painting. Not kidding at all. Just don't wanna pay $350 for it.

The bird one was the one I used as a background when I discovered this stuff, back in the late 90s.

If more gorillas started painting, then maybe a new artistic movement, perhaps called Zaiusism, would emerge. Through their artistic expression, gorillas would be able to earn enough dough to buy themselves out of endangered status. Man, Urkobold is on the cutting edge, that's for sure.
