The Lady Haden-Guest and Kevin Kline should've both won Oscars for this scene alone. Yes, aside from the one that Kline got for playing the trollish Otto. If I were in charge of the world, there would be an Otto TV series. Preferably an HBO series, so we could get full Ottofication.
I'll never forget seeing that movie for the first time. I was in physical pain from laughing so much. Still great, of course, even multiple viewings later.
Anyway, this scene is the one that has stuck with me the most. Funny that it's one without Cleese or Palin, but they've got possession of enough of my brain space as it is.
I wish Otto could post here. He'd be great. Better than Oprah. I mean, sure, she's big and all, but how trollish is she?
FYI: I changed the settings so that all comments appear in a pop-up window. It's a preference of mine, but if consensus wants otherwise feel free to change, of course :)
Urkobold: sorry it took me so long to get around to here. You guys should try smoking pot. The good CDN kind. It robs you of motivation, but also makes you less unnecessarily vinegar. Jus' a suggestion.
Oops, fellow Tampanian, I just undid the pop-ups, finding them positively annoying. Though I defer to my fellow Urkoboldians, of course. I thought it was a Blogspot glitch!
The movie is A Fish Called Wanda, which is one of the great comedies of all time. It's got John Cleese and Michael Palin, so it's more than a little Pythonish.

All time favorite.
(although people dubbed me "an Otto-like character" in college. hrumph)
That scene. The scene with Mrs. Leece, and when he tells Archie, "pork away pal. Fuck her blue".
Hearing/ seeing how that gets translated is hysterical!
Thanks for posting! Wundaboa!

Appearance wise?
Well, granted. Especially if one looks at the picture that I posted earlier. Take the makeup off of Oprah and what do you have? Oscar, baby, Oscar.
This week on HBO's Otto, Otto kills a philosophy professor at NYU and, to protect his cover, must teach the professor's class on Nietzsche.
Of course, all of the fans of HBO's Otto are waiting for the two-hour season finale with guest stars John Cleese and Baroness Haden-Guest.
trolling hat on: the central message of therevada buddhism *is* every man for himself.
i've never seen this film. what is it?

I've never seen this film either. Will have to add to my Blockbuster queue

Whoa.
Have you seen The Godfather?
It's certainly a sin. And un-American.

"Never saw A Fish Called Wanda?"
no.
